Walk My Way Barossa Valley

When COVID-19 forced ALWS to cancel Walk My Way, we learnt how creative our Lutheran family can be!

2,838 Walkers stepped out to help 6,390 refugee children go to school!

Now we’re stepping out again – in faith – and planning Walk My Way Barossa for Saturday 1 May 2021.

We'd love you to join us!

What makes Walk My Way Barossa special?

  1. Walk through glorious autumn-hued vineyards and rolling landscapes.
  2. Enjoy amazing Barossa hospitality - perhaps even a cheeky wine and cheese!
  3. Explore our Lutheran heritage, and reflect on the lives of early German settlers.
  4. Spend quality time with friends and family (26km gives time to talk!)
  5. Help refugee children in East Africa to go to school: $26 supports one child go to school for a year!

What does the day look like?

We’re planning a 26km walking challenge

After your Barossa Brekkie and an opening ceremony, it's time to get walking!

You'll walk through beautiful countryside, townships, and past wineries. There'll be drink and toilet stops along the way.

After lunch, you'll continue on - and arrive for a finish line celebration!

There’ll be buses to take you to and from the start and finish, so you can leave your car at either end.

You can even bring a team of students and teachers from your school. What a great way to bring your school community together to help others!

Lunch at a winery?! Can I enjoy a glass of red??

You sure can!

We'll provide a simple sausage sizzle for all Walkers. If you'd like something more, you can purchase a St Hallett platter or glass of wine. Click here to see all the delicious platters on offer and to order in advance.

Sounds great. How can I join the Walk?

In early 2021, we'll open registrations. Then, simply click on the red Register button above and complete the form.

How much does it cost?

It's $52 for an Adult, $26 for a Child, and $104 for a Family (up to 4 kids). All of your registration fee goes straight to helping refugee children go to school.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Lutheran Laypeople's League, you'll receive a Walk T-shirt, breakfast, sausage sizzle lunch, and finish line surprise. Thank you, LLL!

I'd love to be involved, but walking isn't my thing.

Not a problem! Can you volunteer to help us out on the day?

From helping set up breakfast, to handing out drinks, to marshalling (making sure Walkers are on the right track), there are so many volunteers needed for this event. If you can help, please sign up here or get in touch to find out more.*

If you can't Walk or volunteer, we still need you! Sponsor a walker, sponsor a team, or simply donate. Thank you!

What if I can't get to the Barossa?

You can Walk YOUR Way - anywhere, any time! Find out more

I want to know more!

Stayed tuned!
